Winter Awakening (Writing Challenge Day 12)
A woman in long flowing white robes stands in the middle of the church altar. Her right arm is chained by a golden iron cord towards the tabernacle while her left arm is tied by a red cloth towards the lectern. Her robes flash colors from white to red to indigo and back to white. Her shaved head reflects the lights from the stained glass windows of saints. She is blindfolded.
The audience are attending a mass.
(Everyone rises. If they don’t, I don’t care.)
The day I met religion is the day I lost my sight and voice.
