Maiden, Mother, Crone

Little girl in pink

In a bathtub would swim or sink

She’d play with ponies, make-up and ribbons,

Until the day she’ll look like the gibbons.

Fat lady in black

Smacks her husband who talks smack

She’d juggle two kids, three jobs and a loan

While in bed still trying to fake a moan.

Wise woman in white

Only comes out at night

She’d swing rosary beads and start wearing a veil

And wouldn’t care if she’d chip a nail.

O women of mine, women of truth,

What happen to love, happiness and youth?

What happened to the fight of yesterday

To make tomorrow brighter and gay?

CARD DRAWN:

TEN OF WANDS

THIS IS THE TAROT CHALLENGE, a 78-day writing challenge where everyday I pick out a random card from my tarot deck and write something about, against, inspired by, based on the card by the day’s end. The works can range from poetry to fiction to drama. When the card is from the major arcana, the title of the work should be the card name. When the card is from the minor arcana, the title can be different but the card drawn should be revealed at the end.
